A shipwreck undone- from ashes to the Mount Horeb.

As Billy Graham once said, “Even if we may not always understand why God allows certain things to happen to us, we can know He is able to bring good out of evil, and triumph out of suffering.” -And how that perfectly fits the theme of what I am sharing here.

Since my teenage and up till my late 20s, stock pile of my ever so heavy (emotional) baggage led to my shipwreck which not only adversely affected me but also the people around me. Constant fears, lack of confidence and bad life choices aggravated this situation for me as I was growing into an anxious mess. The debris of this havoc poured gradually into my life filling me up to the brim, leaving no place to breathe, suffocating me to a point where I was numb. Completely unaware what God had in store for me, I led a life of self degradation as my anxiety got the better of me.

Everyday back then was a battle- emotional and physical- while I saw my life falling apart right before my eyes and that is because I hadn’t yet lifted my eyes to the mountains! My Mount Horeb, my salvation:

Psalm 121 KJV

121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

God works in mysterious ways unfathomable by humans. We only need to lift up our eyes!
